Market Visits & Local Shopping
A trip to the market is more than just shopping—it’s a cultural experience. Participants explore vibrant stalls filled with tropical fruits, fresh seafood, and locally grown vegetables while meeting the farmers and vendors who supply the island. This is an opportunity to practice conversational Fijian, learn about the island’s economy, and understand the importance of fresh, local food. Visiting a roadside stall for cassava chips or grabbing a fresh coconut adds to the experience, showcasing the flavors and hospitality of Taveuni. It’s also a chance to pick up handmade souvenirs, supporting local artisans and small businesses.
Learning Traditional Skills & Coastal Living
