Allen Burton

Allen comes from corporate travel and education background – working with retail travel and the Australian University sector and, after gaining a Masters in Education (Leadership) working for 10 years as a teacher in Melbourne.

This is a great combination for establishing an education, discovery, and specialty group camp facility in Taveuni.

Allen is a father to three adult daughters, the youngest of whom, Jamie, joins him in the business.

Salu Rosa

Salu was born, schooled and has spent most of her life in Taveuni. She is well loved and connected in Taveuni. Salu helps create a welcoming environment for our guests. Salu knows everything about Taveuni and happily shares her knowledge.

Jamie Burton

Jamie is our Australian based liaison, working with schools and groups to customise a journey. Jamie visited Fiji as part of her school’s Beyond Boundaries program in 2014 and fell in love with the environment. Jamie and her dad, Allen, are keen to share the secrets of Taveuni and provide a rich learning experience for all those who visit as part of a school program. Jamie has travelled widely since leaving school, has spent a summer in a camp in America and a year in the UK.

Mary Watson Burton

Mary has worked in both commercial and not for profit endeavors, drawing from a high-performance sales management, and customer service management background and is key in opening new relationships and cementing partnerships.

Mary splits her time between Sydney and Taveuni. Mary supports business and not-for-profit organisations with ideation, strategic solutions for growth, work plans to achieve outcomes and develop written communication to bring this to life.

Kelly Anderson

As an independent agent with one of Australia’s most supported companies, MTA, Kelly has been lucky enough to turn her passion for Fiji into her business.  Kelly’s connection to Fiji is more than as a tourist and The Island Classroom is a project that embraces that connection.
